BFC - benenden fertility centre
Blastocyst - An embryo that has developed for 5 to 6 days after fertilisation
Egg - Gamete produced by a woman during her monthly cycle
Embryo - A fertilised egg
Fertilisation - The penetration of an egg by a sperm resulting in an embryo
Follicle - Fluid filled sac in the ovary, containing (usually) an egg
FSH - Follicle Stimulating Hormone
Gametes - Eggs or sperm
HCG - Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin
HFEA - Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority
ICSI - Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
IUI - Intra Uterine Insemination
IVF - In Vitro Fertilisation
Oestrogen - Female sex hormone produced by the ovary
Oocyte/Ovum - The female gamete (egg)
Ovary - The female reproductive organ
OHSS - Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome
PESA - Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration
Semen - Ejaculated sperm
Sperm - Male gametes
TESA - Testicular Sperm Aspiration
Uterus - A female organ; also known as the womb
