Fertility Sister
Irene worked for many years as a Midwife in Edinburgh before
joining benenden hospital in January 2000 as a Lead Gynae
Nurse.
Since joining benenden Irene has had a varied experience working in
a busy Out-Patient Department. During this time Irene worked
with Consultant Gynaecologist Mr Hefni and his colleagues
specialising in Fertility, Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy.
In 2004 Irene received an award from benenden hospital which
allowed her to travel whilst looking at a specilised area of
Nursing. Irene choose to travel to Australia and observe IVF
Clinics, which sparked the interest. It is a very different area of
Nursing that Irene finds really interesting and amazing!
